                     XRouter version 185q model 4
                     ============================

This small package is intended as an upgrade from v184c to v184q
model 4 only. Model 4 omits the following features to save space:
PPP, Dial Up Networking, DHCP, Application support, SCC card support,
YAM modem support, integral PMS, Network Address Translation, Dynamic
DNS update client, TNC2 emulation, "Netrom Backend" support and IPUDP
protocol - if you need these, please let me know.

If you are attempting to upgrade from a version prior to v184c, please
follow the upgrade trail to v184c first. If you ignore this advice, you
will end up with a non-working system.

Please take time to read the changes.txt carefully, as there is no other
documentation at present.

The main things you should be aware of are as follows:

1) Because XRouter is bigger, it leaves even less free memory for it to
use. In addition it now grabs a lot more memory at bootup, so you will
see a much lower free memory figure, You may have to make some
sacrifices, such as reducing the number of consoles, ports, users,
nodes, routes, sessions etc. But you *will* find that there will be
much smaller fluctuations in the free memory, and providing you start
with at least 30k free, "out of memory" events should be much rarer.

2) In IPROUTE.SYS, all "ROUTE ADD" commands must be changed to
"IP ROUTE ADD", "ROUTE DEFAULT" to "IP ROUTE DEFAULT", and QUIET must
   be changed to "IP QUIET".

3) In BOOTCMDS.SYS, the command "NETROM ROUTE ADD" must be changed to
   "ROUTE ADD".

4) If your ARP table normally contains over 20 entries, you will need to
add the MAXARP directive to reserve more slots.

5) If you have need to resolve more than 10 dynamic hostnames at frequent
intervals (e.g. if you have lots of AXUDP ports), you will need to add
the DCACHE directive to increase the sixe of the domain cache.
