                           WINPFilt V1.02
                           ==============

                       -----------------------

The copyright to WINPFilt is owned by Mike Marriott G0OPC. It is
freeware to users of WINPACK by Roger Barker G4IDE. (WINPACK is NOT
freeware).

It is not to be sold or used for commercial purposes without the
express permission of Mike Marriott.

I make no claims for the suitability or ability of this software.
======================================================================
WINPFilt is a simple filter program for filtering and viewing text
from the main Winpack monitor window.

It works best with hostmodes such as BPQ and AGW. It will work with
TNC modes but the results are not as well structured as the occasional
line feed seems to vanish in the DDE exchange.

You can enter text into the lower text input box and the program will
search all text received and only show lines of text that contain your
selection on it's screen. The text search string IS CASE SENSITIVE so
'G0OPC' will not find 'g0opc' or 'G0opc'.

PLEASE NOTE THE BIT ABOUT IT BEING CASE SENSITIVE!!

i.e BPQ users can enter Port=1 and WinpFilt will only show all text
that is received on port 1. But note the upper case 'P'.

You can open more than one copy of WinpFilt at a time and set them to
different text if you wish.

Multiport users can set one copy to Port=1 and a second copy to Port=2
etc and monitor ports separately. This is the reason I wrote the
application.

WINPFilt will NOT search text that has been sent to or from you in a
connected conversation or YAPP transfer unless MON_DDE_ENABLED is set
to TRUE in PACKET.INI, and only then if you are running a host mode
like BPQ or AGW. If you are using a TNC then WinpFilt will only
monitor whilst you are not connected to another station.

It is recommended that you set MON_DDE_ENABLED=TRUE in PACKET.INI then
re-boot Winpack.

This ZIP file contains:

READFILT.TXT....This file.
WINPFILT.EXE....The program.
WINPFILT.XTR....The XTR file for Winpack.
WINPFILT.BUT....The .BUT file if you run my Extra Buttons program.
WINPFILT.ICO....An ICON for use if you wish.
CMDIALOG.VBX....An extension file required by Winpfilt.
COMMDLG.DLL.....An extension file required by Winpfilt.

Place WINPFILT.EXE in your WINPACK root directory.

If you do not run my BUTTONS and wish to put a button for WINPFILT on
the Winpack button bar then place WINPFILT.XTR in the Winpack root
directory.

If you run my BUTTONS program and wish to put a button for WINPFILT on
the button bar then put WINPFILT.BUT in your WINPACK\BUTTONS
directory.

Place the WINPFILT.ICO in the WINPACK\ICONS directory.

Place both CMDIALOG.VBX and COMMDLG.DLL in you WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directory. If you already have these files then ONLY over-write with
the versions I have supplied if THESE VERSIONS are NEWER.

Re-Boot Winpack and BUTTONS if you run it.

A new button should now appear on either your Winpack button bar or
your BUTTONS button bar if you have set it that way. This should
start WINPFILT.

The first time WINPFilt starts it will need to be closed down again
and re-opened to allow it to set itself up. After this it will open
normally.

There is a HELP button on the WinpFilt screen and a small help file in
there. Nothing dramatic but the program is very simple so should take
no working out.
