The New Packet Generation Installation manual
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NPG installation :

Just unzip the file to your NPG packet directory.
After that edit the NPG.CFG file and the HOUSEKP.CFG in the NPG root
and the USEREDIT.CFG in the cfg directory.
After you've done that you just load the packet driver TFPCX or BPQ and then start NPG.EXE

How to use NPG with TFPCX or BPQ with a TNC or Baycom.

TFPCX with a Baycom

start TFPCX using :
TFPCX -pcom1 <----- for baycom on comm1
TFPCX -pcom2 <----- for baycom on comm2

TFPCX with a TNC

first put your TNC in kiss mode.

start TFPCX using:
TFPCX -pkiss1 <----- for TNC on comm1
TFPCX -pkiss2 <----- for TNC on comm2

BPQ

To use NPG with BPQ you have to edit the BPQCFG.TXT file in your BPQ
directory.
In this file there are all the BPQ options (configuring BPQ is not for rookies)
We included a BPQCFG.TXT with the options for Baycom and TNC.
If you use a TNC with BPQ you have to put your TNC in kiss mode.

DON'T FORGET TO RUN BPQCFG.EXE AFTER YOU CHANGED BPQCFG.TXT !!!!!!!

BPQ and TNC

to start NPG with BPQ use the following steps.
Edit the file BPQCFG.TXT
Run BPQCFG.EXE after you changed BPQCFG.TXT

to start NPG use

BPQCODE
NPG

BPQ and Baycom

So far we know BPQ won't run well with baycom modems but if you want
to try it this is the procedure.
Edit the file BPQCFG.TXT
Run BPQCFG.EXE after you changed BPQCFG.TXT
The parameters behind the BPQAX25 file can be found in the BPQAX25.DOC file in the
BPQ directory.
I = the baycom interupt. 4=Com1 3=Com2		<----- I = CASE SENSITIVE
B = the baycom adress. 3f8=Com1 2f8=Com2	<----- B = CASE SENSITIVE

to start NPG use

BPQAX25 -i60 -I4 -B3f8 -b1200 -cd -s140 -p250 -h450 -t35 -T50
BPQCODE
NPG

We advice to use TFPCX at the first place because it is easy to use.
For more advanced users try BPQ.
