WinFBB+BPQ+Baycom...works fine!

From: Stefan Rosenhall <stefan.rosenhall@mailbox.swipnet.se>

                      Hello Packeteers!

I just want to share my experiences about the combination with
WinFBB+BPQ & a BayCommodem....
I'm running it with Windows 95.

Software needed for this solution:

BPQ v 408a
BPQAX25.com (driver for BPQ with Baycom)

And of course Windows and WinFBB.....

At first you have to disable the comport you want to use from
windows, so windows can't find it.
This is becuase when you start windows it want's to take the
control over all comports, and if so it just won't work becuase
the node is running from a DOS-session.

Please note that you must load BPQ and BPQAX25.com before you start
Windows, or it wont work....

You can do it either in autoexec.bat or like I do: in a separate
"home made" bat-file....
Parameters below is what I drive with, so you'll have to change it
so it fit's to your computer....

AUTOEXEC.BAT:

cd c:\bpq
bpqcfg
LH C:\BPQ\bpqax25 -i60 -I4 -B3f8 -h800 -s12 -t8 -p64 -T0 -cd
LH C:\BPQ\bpqcode
cd c:\

You will also have to edit the configuration file in BPQ:

"BPQCFG.TXT"  to something like this:

PORT
        ID=XXX.XXX Mhz
        TYPE=EXTERNAL
        PROTOCOL=KISS
        IOADDR=3F8H
        INTLEVEL=96
        SPEED=1200
        CHANNEL=A
        QUALITY=10
        MAXFRAME=4
        TXDELAY=800
        SLOTTIME=100
        PERSIST=64
        FULLDUP=0
        FRACK=7000
        RESPTIME=3000
        RETRIES=20
        PACLEN=250
        DIGIFLAG=1
        DIGIPORT=0
ENDPORT

My inittnc1.sys in FBB\SYSTEM looks like this:

A1
R0
UMAIL
M1
N1

And then reboot your computer and start windows, then check the
WinFBB-configuration before you start winFBB...

For more info about parameters, read textfiles that follows
in each softwarepackage.

The only problem I have is that the monitoringfunction in WinFBB
don't work at all, but what I can see there is more Hams who
have the same problem.

I don't know if it is a bug or if its my configuration that fails..
If anybody knows more about that, I would be glad to hear anything
about it....
(Or take it as a "bug-report")    :-\

73's  Stefan.
