QRZQTH.EXE Version 1.0

QRZQTH TXT
QRZQTH EXE
QRZQTH CFG
QRZQTH ENG
QRZ HLP

This program interfaces the FBB BBS system, with the QRZ CD ROM by Walnut
Creek for real-time lookups by name, call, ZIP code, or city and state.
QRZQTH.EXE is the interface program, and needs to be installed in the PG
subdirectory, normally \FBB\PG\. QRZQTH.CFG can be placed in the same
directory as QRZQTH.EXE or in a directory in the DOS path, such as \FBB\BIN\.
Once FBB is started, the PG programs will be noticed, and the program name
becomes a valid command. So all a user need do to enter the server is type
QRZQTH. What some have done, is re-name both to QTH.EXE and QTH.CFG. This way,
all a user needs to do, is type QTH at the BBS prompt, and he is into the
server. The rule to follow here is the program and configuration files MUST
have the same names, with extensions of EXE and CFG.

The QRZQTH.CFG file needs to be edited with site specific data. The scripts
are in a file named in the CFG file. Sysops may create new files, which will
switch with the FBB OL command. For example, a user may create an ANSI script
file, and list it in the CFG file in the same order as in the LANGUE.SYS. If
a user chooses #2 ANSI for the FBB display, he will get the #2 ANSI display
for the server also. The user may also add foreign language scripts, if he
has the talent. A limited set of FBB $variables is supported. There is a list
at the end of the QRZQTH.ENG file for reference.

Most of the configuration file is self-explanatory. The second path
requested is for a temporary files area. This is necessary for the program
to act as part of the FBB system. Each time a user enters the server, a
temporary file is created with a name made of the users call and SSID. Each
subsequent time the server is entered, this file information is used and
updated. Each file is only about 87 bytes, and they can be deleted with no
impact to the server, as long as the BBS is not running at the time, eg. NOT
in the DOS gateway. For best performance and self cleaning, consider using a
RAMDRIVE path. If you are already running SAMQTH use a different subdirectory
for the QRZQTH program.

In order for the servers to use the WP info in a speedy manner, the WP
information is indexed. QTHWPALL.EXE is used to index the WP.SYS database
file. See the QTHWPALL.TXT file for information on using the program.

I have a lot of fun programming, but always need feedback for ideas,
and bug fixes. Let me know what is on your mind, even if it is running
fine. Most folks are quiet when things are working right, and gives me
the feeling nobody is running this stuff. Drop me a QSL card and tell me
which program you are running.
