GETQRZ.EXE Version 1.0

GETQRZ TXT
GETQRZ EXE
GETQRZ CFG
GETQRZ ENG
QRZ HLP

This program interfaces the FBB BBS system, with the QRZ CD ROM by Walnut
Creek for real-time lookups by call only. GETQRZ.EXE is the interface
program, and needs to be installed in the PG subdirectory, normally \FBB\PG\.
GETQRZ.CFG can be placed in the same directory as GETQRZ.EXE or in a
directory in the DOS path, such as \FBB\BIN\. Once FBB is started, the PG
programs will be noticed, and the program name becomes a valid command. So
all a user need do to enter the server is type GETQRZ call where call is
the callsign of the call the user wants looked up. The Sysop may change
the name of the program, thus changing the name of the command. The rule to
follow here is the program and configuration files MUST have the same names,
with extensions of EXE and CFG.

The GETQRZ.CFG file needs to be edited with site specific data. The scripts
are in a file named in the CFG file. Sysops may create new files, which will
switch with the FBB OL command. For example, a user may create an ANSI script
file, and list it in the CFG file in the same order as in the LANGUE.SYS. If
a user chooses #2 ANSI for the FBB display, he will get the #2 ANSI display
for the server also. The user may also add foreign language scripts, if he
has the talent. A limited set of FBB $variables is supported. There is a list
at the end of the GETQRZ.ENG file for reference.

The configuration file is self-explanatory.

In order for the servers to use the WP info in a speedy manner, the WP
information is indexed. QTHWPALL.EXE is used to index the WP.SYS database
file. See the QTHWPALL.TXT file for information on using the program.

The language file GETQRZ.ENG may be edited to suit the sysop's tastes.
There is an opening script, which may be edited to include some hints
to operation.

I have a lot of fun programming, but always need feedback for ideas,
and bug fixes. Let me know what is on your mind, even if it is running
fine. Most folks are quiet when things are working right, and gives me
the feeling nobody is running this stuff. Drop me a QSL card and tell me
which program you are running.
