	======================

The purpose of the BPQ32 Installer is to assist in the configuration
and installation of the BPQ32 Node software. As it is primarily intended
for those who are unfamiliar with BPQ32, the installer sets up a simple
configuration without a "full blown" Network Nodes broadcast.

For several reasons, I have not included the BPQ32 software with the
installer so you will need to obtain that separately. The full BPQ32
zip package is available from several sources including my website at
  www.vwlowen.demon.co.uk/radio/files.htm

and from www.cix.co.uk/~ntsx/

Setting up the Installer
------------------------

Step 1. Unzip Bpq32Inst.exe into any convenient temporary directory such as
         c:\Temp.

Step 2. From the Bpq32.zip package, unzip Bpq32.dll and Bpqcfg.exe into the
same directory as Step 1. These are the only two files the installer
needs but they MUST be in the same directory as Bpq32Inst.exe

Step 3. Run Bpq32Inst.exe either by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer
or from the Windows 'Start | Run..' option.

The Installer first checks that the two Bpq files are present and then asks you to Choose a Folder in which to install BPQ32. The only PMS software that I'm
aware of which currently supports BPQ32 is 'Sally 3' so the Installer checks
if this is on your system and, if it is, suggests a suitable folder. Otherwise,
it suggests the c:\windows\system folder.

I *know* that BPQ32 will work if it is installed in these folders but the Installer allows you to install BPQ32 in any other folder if you wish.

Having selected a suitable folder, press the 'Next >' button and you will be
requested to select the PC COM Port(s) that BPQ32 will use, and the type of
harware attached to each port. The hardware options are currently TNC, Dual-
port TNC and HDLC cards PC120 and DRSI.

You will then be asked to enter the various timing parameters for each radio
on the COM ports you selected. Suitable default values are suggested so, if
you are unsure, simply accept the suggested values.

At each stage, you have the opportunity to press a '< Back' button to change
previous entries but, when all is correct, simply press the 'Install' button.
The Installer will then automatically generate a BPQ32 configuration file
(called Bpqcfg.txt), a binary file (called Bpqcfg.bin) and move all the BPQ32
files into the folder you selected.

---------------

Notes:
======

If you use the BPQ32 Installer to install 'over the top' of an existing BPQ32 installation, the Installer will make backup copies of the original Bpqcfg.txt and Bpqcfg.bin.

Sally users should note that the file: BpqCfg.doc is part of the *Sally* installation and should be left in place. If it is removed, *Sally* will attempt to replace it from the original Sally.msi file the next time Sally is started up.

Please note that I'm not familiar with using internal HDLC Cards with BPQ32 so
I have used the (limited) documentation available. If the Installer does not
configure these cards correctly, I would appreciate being notified so I can
correct the problem.
